Supercell has announced that its upcoming mobile game "Clash Royale" will release next month. The title is a "Clash of Clans" spin-off that's currently having its soft launch.

Supercell made the "Clash Royale" launch announcement through a short video (below). Although the mobile game developer confirms a March release, it hasn't provided a specific date, so fans will have to stay tuned for the company's future announcements.

"Clash of Clans" players won't have a hard time transitioning to this game as it basically has the same mechanics and even features the same characters from "CoC," such as goblins and giants. The only difference is that instead of villages, players will be defending towers.

Just like "Clash of Clans," Supercell's newest game allows players from around the world to duel in real time and win trophies and crowns. "Clash Royale" features head-to-head battle between two monarchs. The Royales include princes, princesses, knights, baby dragons, and more.

Each player will have a Battle Deck that can have up to eight cards. Meanwhile, the arena is a small map divided into two territories accessible via two bridges. Each territory has a royal in the middle and two crown towers, which are basically archer towers, on each side. The first player who can destroy the opponent's towers is declared the winner.

Winners receive Crowns that can be used to earn Crown chests. Players can also get rewards by collecting new cards or upgrade existing ones.

Players can still build clans in this new game. Members of a clan can share cards and participate in friendly duels using "Clash of Clans troops, spells, and defenses."

"Clash Royale" soft launched last month and was available to select territories, including Canada and Australia. Players who participated in the soft launch have provided their feedback, and Supercell is making the necessary tweaks based on this.

Similar to "Clash of Clans," "Clash Royale" is also a free-to-play mobile game with in-app purchases, although these can be turned off through the device's settings. The final version of the game will be available to both iOS and Android devices in March.
